Suite 1742

I just wanted to share a bit of trivia with you.  As I've been preparing a video on Montreal for the astr.org website, I discovered that room 1742 of the conference hotel in Montreal is the site of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "bed-in" and where they recorded "Give Peace a Chance." 



I've been in London for the past week, and in the past couple of days, I interviewed Sandy Craig and Michelene Wandor (transcripts of these interviews will appear in the coming weeks on this blog).  Michelene and I talked about the creative atmosphere in the UK the 1970s, and she and I both found it notable that the Lennon/Ono event should have happened in the same place where we are going to discuss the impact of the creative chaos of the 1970s and 80s.

That's awesome! We should stage a reenactment! We'd need a king size to fit the whole working group, though...
